In celebration of Singapore’s efforts in enhancing our greenery and biodiversity, the National Parks Board is organising a year-long City in a Garden Photography Competition, starting from 2 July 2011. Through this competition, we hope to capture the essence of “City in a Garden” through the lenses of Singaporeans and the people residing here. Download a copy of the description of the themes here.

Themes 3 and 4 of the photography competition are still open!
Have not submitted your photographs? No worries, there is still time! Theme 3: 'BiodiverCity' will close on 5th March 2012, 12pm and Theme 4: 'My City in a Garden' will close on 7th April 2012, 12pm. So hurry, submit your photographs and stand a chance to win attractive prizes.

Prize Presentation for Theme 2: Trees and Forests
The Prize Presentation Ceremony for Theme 2: Trees and Forests will be held on Saturday 10th December from 3.30pm to 6.30pm at Function Room in Botany Centre. Interested participants, please RSVP to nparks_ciagpc@nparks.gov.sg by Tuesday 6th December 2011.

The photo exhibition for Theme 2: Trees and Forests is open! View winning photos of Theme 2: ‘Trees and Forests’ at Singapore Botanic Gardens (Green Pavilion) from Saturday 3rd December 2011 to Monday 2nd January 2012. Admission is free.

Calling all young photography enthusiasts between 7 – 12 years old! Submit your photos and stand to win cash prizes worth a total of $5,000 in the Junior Category presented by Clarins. More details here.

National Parks Board and The Photographic Society are organising free photography workshops for schools at our parks and gardens where students will pick up useful tips on nature photography and submit their photos for the competition at the end of each workshop session. Besides attractive cash prizes to be won, winning entries will also be exhibited at various locations around Singapore.
Register for the workshop now as space is limited. Fill up the registration form and email it to nparks_ciagpc@nparks.gov.sg. Registration closes on 25 October 2011.

City Developments Limited has adopted all four themes from NParks’ City in the Garden Photography Competition in their biennial CDL Singapore Young Photographer Award 2012 (SYPA). Youth between 13 – 25 years old can compete in the “Young Nature Photographer Award” under CDL SYPA with cash prizes worth a total of $5,000. Results for Theme 1 will be announced on Friday 16 September at the Parks Festival Kick-off at Raffles Place Park from 12pm – 3pm. Come and view the winning photos and join in the activities that are going on during Parks Festival 2011.
